2.   I want to find out how to measure the electromagnetic radiation on a computer montior. Also, when I turn on my monitor and brush my hand across the front, I always feel a wave or shock.

The following diagram (click here to see the diagram)shows a sequence in which an uncharged metal plate with an insulating handle approaches and touches a charged insulator. While in contact, the metal plate is touched by a person. Before the metal plate is removed from the insulator the hand touching it is removed.

If the insulator has a positive charge, there will be a charge on the metal plate when it is removed from the insulator. What type of charge? (1 mark)
Explain completely how the metal plate came to be charged. (8 marks)
